The 1st of February 2010 already! January certainly disappeared quickly. So far this year the training sector has faced a lot of changes to the Government funded training programmes. Dumfries and Galloway's Unemployment Figures
Having just looked at the BBC's website there are yet more depressing figures hitting the headlines. The number of people out of work in Scotland rose by 10,000 in the last three months of 2009, official figures have shown. The increase took the number of people who are unemployed to 206,000, up 65,000 on the same quarter last year. The Scottish unemployment rate stands at 7.6%, just below the UK average unemployment rate of 7.8%. However, Dumfries and Galloway seem to be fairing better than the rest of Scotland and the UK.
