Minerva's History and Awards

Minerva has operated in Dumfries and Galloway for over 11 years and during that time have been successful in gaining many awards. The recognition of Minerva as a quality training provider has been consistent over the whole life of the company and this continues to be one of our key goals when providing training to businesses and individuals.

Listed below are some of our main achievements:

• Nominated one of our clients for the Small Employer of the Year for the Scottish Modern Apprenticeship Awards - Scottish Finalist - Winner December 2009 (The Buccleuch Arms Hotel, Moffat)

• 3 Learners nominated by Learndirect Scotland as Learning Champions with one a Scottish finalist – September 2008

• Nominated as a Scottish Finalist by Learndirect Scotland for Best Practice Award for “A Lifelong Learning Skills Strategy for Scotland: Best Economic Pull” ie engaging with employers and providing training –Winner – March 2008 – DVD Showcasing finalists

• Scottish Finalist for Best Practice in Marketing – Learndirect Scotland Feb 2007

• Learndirect Scotland – one of Minerva’s learners won the “Young Learner of the Year”  category announced  September 2006

• Microsoft RISE Initiative Programme in partnership with Scottish Chambers of Commerce – Winner for Dumfries and Galloway region

• Minerva’s OCR – NVQ candidates 
First Scottish candidate to achieve the new Management Level 4 (2006)
First Scottish candidate to achieve the new Administration Level 3 (2006)
Second Scottish candidate to achieve the new Administration Level 2 (2006)

• Learndirect Scotland selected one of Minerva’s learners to showcase on their Learndirect DVD interviewing the learner and a director of the company

• Minerva was a Scottish Finalist for Scottish Modern Apprenticeship Awards in the category of Training Provider of the Year 2004

• Scottish Enterprise produced new marketing material for the Skillseekers programme and out of the 3 cases studies used two of the Skillseekers were Minerva learners.

• Learndirect Scotland – to date 7 of Minerva’s learners “Learning Champions” 2003-2006

• Learndirect Scotland – Scottish Finalist for Training Centre of the Year – 2003

• OCR – named one of their top training providers in Scotland – 2003

• Winner of a National Training Award 2002

• Winner Learning Excellence Award – Scottish Enterprise Dumfries & Galloway – 2002

• Scottish finalists for a National Training Award  – 2000
